The one problem everyone seems to over look is the fact that the state constitution states that in such a case the Lt gov will take over,  So you see we can vote but bustamonte will whip this out after it's all done.

At least Sen. Dianne Feinstein decided not to run for gov.  The thought of her running Kalifornia scared me...  and I don't even live there!

I have mentioned this a few times before, but Schwartzeneggar is a self-described "social moderate" on social issues, & the fact that his wife is a kissin' cousin of the Kennedy tribe & they hang out w/ "Uncle Ted" now & then doesn't bode well for his world view of things, especially as they relate to guns & shooting sports. He's a "new world order"-flavored moderate Republican & I wouldn't send out a warm & fuzzy letter to him detailing the decline of individual rights & the 2nd Amend & expect a warm affirmation, since he'd probably consider it tripe.

He's probably better than the current idiot, since it would be hard to be worse, & he's probably got a lot of good ideas to shape things up there in general, but he's not going to be the catalyst that ultimately repeals the current AW registration/castration/ban that's been in place down there for the last decade.

BTW - IBTL!!!

Food for thought :

1) Feinstein can do more demage in the US Senate than being a governor of California

2) Bill Lockyer as AG and Don Perata as Majority Leader can do much more demage than any new governor elected

3) Somewhere it was mentioned Arnold is anti-gun

Master Blaster & hycheng are right on! Arnold is too Moderate, we need someone more Conservative to rally behind. Let's hope we're wise enough to to join together, and elect the best choice, rather than splinter our votes among several candidates. This will only weaken our cause, and strengthen the enemy's cause.

Yes Arnold is Pro "Gun Control". whatever that means. Also it should be known Arnold really has no platform. The closest thing to a platform i have heard from him is when he announced he was running and mention he was worried about high taxes, cali junk bonds, business's leaving daily and i think mentioned some others as well. this is all well and good but before arnold gets my vote i would like to here exactly where he stands on these issues and other more important ones such as immigration. And lets assume arnold is a true conservative ( not likely ) he still has to deal with the socialist commu-nazi legislature that runs our state and that will take time to overcome. Anyway this is just my 2 cents, could be wrong

I don't believe Arnold is anti gun.Magnum Research sold autoghaphed gun cases signed by Arnold.I would need to see a direct quote or hear it for my self to belive it. He was the poster boy for the Desert Eagle.

A modrate republican stands a much grater chance of being elected in Calaforina over a true conseritive.

I can't give a source, but I recall reading about Arnold making a statement that what this country needs is "a house to house search with confiscation of all firearms".

I didn't see his name on the NRA's anti list though.

The best rumor I heard was:
The Dems will make/ask Davis to fall on his AR15 (OK, sword) RESIGN soon and let Bustamante (sp) take over, as per Kali law.  Then there will not even be a recall election.  Dems stay in power, no Ahhhnold.

At this time I am in favor of Simon for Governor. One positive thing about Arnold is he is spending his own money and will not beholding to anyone.  I feel that may be a good thing.  Gov. Davis spends his time selling political favors.  What a scum bag.
