I use a Stern adapter in my truck gun.
Works flawlessly. Decided on it when GLock lowers were unavailable just about everywhere. Prefer a pistol caliber that takes same magazines as my carry gun. I know some people would advise me to use a .556, but I'm not trying to fight off an army or go on the offense, my truck gun is to just get me out of a jam. Oh, and it makes it easy for my wife to shoot it also. RCA |

I am finding on mine it's critical to get in there and dissolve the carbon off that built in feed ramp. If it isn't kept clear every couple hundred rounds you get malfunctions

There should not be any carbon on the feed ramp. Perhaps you are running it too wet.
Using the Stern adapter in my braced AR-9 pistol build, kept ready for home defense with a 33 round Glock style KCI mag locked into it. This combination has proven to be 100% reliable through thousands of rounds in my pistol. I also like being able to use my large inventory of G-17 mags in more than one type of gun. |
