Dear SWFA,

  I have been researching the different types of 7x50 binoculars, and some unanswerable questions have surfaced.  I called Steiner and they could not answer the below questions.  Steiner makes many versions of the 7x50 bino's.  The entire marine, military/marine appear to have the same-coated optics, yet the light transmission varies greatly from 88-97%. Obviously the price is dramatically different btwn models.  Can you shed some light on the subject????
  I'm active duty Navy and I need a good pair of bino's for use on the ships bridge, must have low light capability and clarity is a must.  Having said that price is a major concern.  Which version do you recommend???
