Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Stag or DPMS lower parts kit

Hey guy's. I'm getting ready to build my first AR. I've got a S&W stripped lower. I found a guy that had one DPMS part's lpk,,so it's on the way. I also found a Stag lpk at a local shop tonight, so I picked it up too. I can sell my buddy the one I don't use.

From what I've read, they're pretty much all the same. But if you had to choose one over the other, what one would you pick, and why. Thank's.

Probably be easier to answer "which came first..., the chicken or the egg?"

13 one...., bakers dozen the other!!

Truth be known..., the're probably made by the same manufacturer!

I like the Stag/CMT kits. I do have a DPMS kit but it's in a bag to be used as a spare parts kit.

The stag kit I just picked up has really nice roll pins.  Real "roll" pins not split pins.  OTOH- The disconnect is a little rough.  All the other parts including the grip are above average.

I just built up a stripped DPMS lower with a Stag LPK yesterday.   Everything was great except for the safety switch and the pistol grip.  My DPMS kits seemed to have slightly better parts. No problems with the Stag kits overall.  They are good to go.
