The 1st Ranger Bn. had a weapons display at the Savannah (GA) National Guard Airfield this weekend.
I got to handle the new SAW, and a 7.62 replacement for the light machine gun, and tricked out M4's. It was great! And the new SOPMOD stock on the M4 (LTM/Crane type) is just what I 'need' It feels very solid and has waterproof storage, I'd like to order one (or two) -- but at $250.00, here on the EE forum, I'm not too sure. Anyone know of a less expensive source? The price should come down if others start making a clone, but who wants to wait!

IIRC, the original Crane stock was around $600. LMT's is a licensed copy of the original, so it's not too overpriced compared to the original. Some have bought the "airsoft copy" of it for less than $100 and have been using them on their real rifles with no ill effects. Someone sells them here in the EE.

I, myself, am planning to buy the LMT version when I can rake up the extra funds.

Check out MSTN on the EE here. Wes will hook you up.

I will give China less than six months to produce the item you want at around $75.00 -- tops. You should expect Leapers to market the item and debut it at the 2005 SHOT Show.
