Only one case came in from all the orders. I will stack it up and take a pic soon. CMP said they would ship the 10 cases in two weeks. That's this Friday if they keep there word, won't take long after that. The TFL group buy cut off is today I think. (5 cases) Then they start shipping. Found out how many boxes of 45ACP fit into a 40mm MK 19 can. 38 boxes of Blazer Brass 45ACP. Gets kinda heavy when you have almost an entire can that big filled with lead. On a related note, 45ACP Blazer Brass has gone up to 11.97 a box from 10.97 a box. Fortunately the last 6 boxes I got I managed to have the difference refunded back, rang up 11.97 on the tape but was 10.97 on the shelf. |

The last Blazer Brass 9mm I got was 5 dollars a box :) I made sure to visit all 3 stores in town buying every bit of it that I could when it was down that low. When it jumped in price, for whatever reason 45ACP stayed relatively the same, so I've been hording on it as much as reasonable. Checked the other stores today, they are at 11.97 a box as well which isn't bad but isn't great. Now I'm gonna fill a MK19 can with as much 9mm Winchester White Box as I can grab at 15.80 a box of 100. I'm guessing it will wind up around 2400-2600 rounds in that can. |

Well I don't have anywhere near 32 ammo cans, but I'm getting to the point that I need a few more 50 cal cans because I've been stocking up on 9mm and .40... And of course that means I need some place to put 'em too. Geezzz, this "hobby" gets more and more complicated every day!

I know the feeling. I just bought 50 of the Cabelas USGI ammo cans thinking that there is no way that I could fill 50 more cans. I have already filled three this week. Oh well.

I grabbed 4000 rds of 9mm for $14.46 at Wallyworld two weeks ago. I returned the next night to buy it so people had their chance!  I also managed 800 rds of .40 WWB at $19.99 that's priced at almost $23 now. The range nearby is selling their cheapest 50 rd 9mm for $12.99 and drop by twice a week and I don't see more than 3 or 4 lanes full. The range has always seen the white boxes and wheneversomeone has a gun issue they loudly blame it on the WWB ammo as it's "2nds" and you get what you pay for. I think that's total BS aimed to sell their ammo. Has anyone everherd of an increased problem with WWB ammo? Anyone think the war in the middle east is ending? I don't. Although I've only gotten the chance to get 200 rds through my first AR I have managed to get 5000 rds at an everage of about $340 delivered. I have over 1000 rds for my .45 and 500 for my .357. My absolute low level is half these numbers. It's jusst that I managed to get a check from an account when my wife was away which is half the reason I grabbed all this  Walsh |
 Most of the Wallys around here have the 100 packs for $15.86, but one of 'em (I don't know why) only wants $13.86. Go figure, but I go there and buy a couple every chance I get. 'Course if it'd just stop raining so the ranges around here would dry up enough to walk on, that might accelerate my ammo purchases some...

This thread makes me feel like a fool. I have maybe 25,000 rounds of ammo. 16,000 of that is .22LR, and a little over 5,000 is 5.56. The rest is in various other calibers in quantities of under 1,000 rounds each. Now with this OSHA crap I am scrambling to get ammo stockpiled.

Holy SH%^!  I have like 1000 rds total for everything I own and people I know think I'm crazy. I'm obviously on the bottom end of the ammo whore list. All these pictures makes me feel left out. No wonder I can't find any ammo!!!

Can't beat a little over a quarter a round of M2 Ball. The ammo cans on the lower right: 2 cans of 1000 rds S&B 5.56 from a private sale and one can of .308 Raufus from ammotogo One more large crate of 30.06 came the next day from the same order. Ammo is equity. Price is not going down. I get the warm comfy feeling of having it and it increases in value. I don't like the OSHA treat or any other. My guns and yours are valueless without ammo. I might not be able to sell certain guns if I don't own the ammo to go with it. No real excuse except it makes me happy. If the time ever comes that we all need it, I will share. I like to think I can make a half dozen phone calls (or contact via radio, etc.) and be quickly set up to handle a large spectrum of bad situations with a rock solid crew, rescue, defense, natural disasters, riots, whatever. I make sure I have tons of supplies, food, fuels, sundries, medical supplies too. Ammo is only a part of the equation. Ammo is the fun part! |
