My winter project was loading up 10k of 55gr .223. That adds to the 15k or so that I already had on strippers in cans. I'm really not sure of an exact inventory of all the other calibers but it's stored in about 30 50cal cans. mI also have 40k of .22lr and about 1k of 12ga. That Dillon 550 can make you an ammo whore in a very short period of time. I have this little rule whenever I walk into a fun store. I call it my ammo tax. Even if I'm just browsing with no intention to buy anything I ALWAYS buy at least a brick of .22lr. That way my plinking stash always goes up and in no time at all I had a 20MM ammo can filled with 40k of .22lr. |

You can get that stuff at office supply stores; it's what a lot of servers are set up on (lots of space for cabling and cooling). And Sluggo, I hate you. That's just showin' off!  Edited to fix smiley. |

Looks like standard restaurant style shelving. Costco carries it at some locations (the biz stores). Ikea sometimes stocks it. Or look for restaurant auctions. |
| Thanks to all the great resources I have found on this site over the past several years, I have managed to accumulate enough to qualify as "whore" all the while burning off a few thousand rounds every so often. I started feeling guilty about taking advantage of all the great sources here so I scraped some cash together and became a paying member. Best money I ever spent. I can go into purchasing hibernation and start reloading all the spent brass from this past year....now where to store it all.... |

Im tellin ya, when ya have more ammo then you can store in the basement (A BIG basement)and you have to keep the rest at 2 family members houses, you might be a ammo whore. When ya live in the country on back roads and the only time ya see a tractor trailor come down that rd is when its delivering ammo to your house 2x's a yr, you might be a ammo whore. When ya shoot a average of 10,000+ rnds everytime you go out to shoot which is alot when ya live on a firin range, ya might be a ammo whore. When you dream about where your next stash is comin from every night even when you got a pile in the basement you have to try and find a place to store it, you might be a ammo whore. Last but not least when ya find 20,000 rnds you didnt even know you had you might be a ammo whore. I AM A AMMO WHORE!!! |
Well, obviously I am not an ammo whore. A month ago I found 2 - 30rnd mags I filled w/ UMC 55gr a couple years ago, and I was freakin ecstatic. |

You guys have ammo storehouses. I thought I was an ammo whore because of my paultry few thousand rounds and the fact I dig through the garbage cans at the gun club for brass. The dumpster diving is limited to reloadable brass. Caliber is irrelevant. If I don't shoot it, surely one of my friends shoots that caliber. Instead of an ammo whore I guess that I am an ammo pimp who helps enable those that are ammo whores and those wanting to become one. I'm sure my misguided thoughts of being an ammo whore are the result of an attempt to indoctrinate and brainwash me by my lovely wife. She does not see the need to have on hand more ammo than one needs for a short trip to the range. |

So have we heard from any Frenchmen or Brits about their ammo hoards?  Stockpiling ammo is as American as baseball and apple pie. Hell, I don't even think you should be allowed to vote unless you have a few thousand rounds stashed away for a rainy day. |

These pictures remind me that I need to scrape and paint a few of my ammo cans in the garage. They're starting to show some rust on the edges... Of course all the stuff that's indoors is nice and clean, but you can't avoid a little humidity in a garage, even here in San Antonio! |

Part of our household react to fire plan is getting the ammo out. The stuff is too valuable to let burn up, so we all have an "actions on the objective" task to complete. The rest of the non firearms related stuff in the house can go up in smoke.

No ammo today... I did bring home 3lbs of powder and 1300 primers for $40... well, that was AFTER I redeemed my Rewards Points ($51 worth) at Bass Pro. They did have UMC .223 on the rack for $5.99 a box but I left it for someone else. All in all, not a bad little trip on the bike - 110 miles round-trip = ~$10 in gas  . |
