Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Side Sling Swivel Attachment

I just got a GI side sling swivel and am having trouble attaching it.  the part which goes around the barrel has upbent ends to hold the roll-pins and I can't get it between the barrel and the front sight base.  Please help!

remove the front sight and slide it on together

Brace it while you are working on it, it makes it much easier.  Install it one side at a time, you shouldn't have both pins in and be trying to pound it in place.

I got it, it was just tighter than I thought it should have been so I had to force it a little bit.  thanks, tho.
