At the range today, fella was shooting a Thompson Contender scoped pistol.

The ammo: 7mm bullet in a 5.56/.223 case.

I was shooting the AR , so it was kinda surprizing to see the same cartridge with this mo'hunkin' piece of lead sitting on top of it...made my Q3131A & XM193 look puny (ammo envy?).

Well, he allowed me to shoot it and it was surprizingly accurate: took out the ram silhoutte at the 200yd marker.

Anybody else shooting non-standard rounds?
