I'm a noob so here goes ... I installed a McCormick trigger today and I needed to remove the selector switch to put it in.  After reinstalling the selector switch, I immediately noticed that it spun all the way around (and that was prior to putting the trigger pins in).  How do I fix it where it only turns between safe and fire?  What did I do wrong?

This happened to me after I put  on a new pistol grip.
The problem was that I FORGOT to reinstall the selector detent and spring.
When I put them back the problem was solved !

Selector detent goes in from the bottom of the receiver (point side first), and the selector spring is housed in the pistol grip on the ejection side which puts pressure against the detent. With any luck, you only forgot to install the spring in the pistol grip, and didn't allow the detent to drop out of the receiver and be lost.

I figured it out -- I put the switch on the wrong side.  Duh...
