Okay, so I have my TR20 in a Armalite mount, just waiting for my grendel to come in. Anyways, I got a good deal on a Troy BUIS and tried it out on my M4 today just to see how it all mounts up. Well, the scope touches the sight just barely. It will mount but there is contact there. How much of a problem is this? Should I just keep my eyes open for a LaRue mount? And if so which model and height? I'd like one (if I decide to get one) that keeps the scope at the same height as irons so I can have the same cheekweld (and nose to charging handle)

Thanks!

though it might not seem like a lot of tension it could be more than what you think and might cause problems with tweaking due to the constant pressure.

i would go with the larue mount or leave the troy sights off since you are running thumbscrews anyways.

Thats what I was thinking too, it can't be a GOOD thing to have something constantly touching the scope....
Thanks

you do not want anything touching the scope when you shoot that rifle...bad juju for the internals, as it imparts an additional force on them that isn't supposed to be there.  I saw a fairly detailed explanation for this somewhere on the net, but I can't find it now.  It made sense when I read it, though.

You definitley want the SPR-E, which is the extended version for use with long eye relief scopes like the Accupoint.  They only come in one height, as far as I know.  On the TR21, there will be plenty of clearance for the BUIS...but I don't know how much longer the TR20 is than the TR21...you should still be fine.

That makes it simpler if they only come in one height, I thought there was different options. I'm not real sure about the the SPR-E, that works good for the TR21, but I think it would be too much for the TR20.
Thanks!
