I have always been loyal to Leupold, and consider there products some of the best. I understand that Night Force and Zeiss are also some of the best. I don't like Tasco and wouldnt put it on anything but my .22's. But what about these other brands of scope, If I consider Tasco a 1 and Leupold a 10, where do the rest of these fall on a scale of, well, 1 to 10? I need to branch out, my budget can't allow many more $900 scopes! Burris Nikon Bushnell Simmons Weaver Redfield Schmidt & Bender BSA Swarovski |

From my experience, if Leupold is a 10... The Nikon Tactical series is also a 10, can't speak for other models. The Schmidt & Bender scopes are an 11. US Optics scopes are an 11, but should be penalized if weight is a concern. That's the extent of my experience. -Randy |
Burris 8 I own two, the Signature series is better than a vx-II, somwhat heavy Nikon 6.5 (just sold one, Monarch ucc, Held zero but rather dark at twilight. Bushnell 4.5 I own one that i use as a test scope. It work, Bargain, Poor optics Simmons 2.0 Trash weaver ? Redfield ? Are they in business again Schmidt & Bender 12 They are the shit. Only manufacturer that is ENTIRELY in house. They make their own Glass. BSA .05 Totall Trash, Tons of optical runout, The King of Paralex Swarovski 11 El Grand optics. I have 3. Two of them have many miles on them. No Problems. Grest Glass Hope this helps. Just my opinions...and you get what you pay for.

I do have a 'sweet 17' 17hmr rimfire scope that I got at discount from Cabelas because it was the display model. The center third of the scope is nice, but the rest looks like I am looking through a pair of perscription glasses. I also got their spotting scope for christmas, it isnt great, but it will hold me over until I can afford something supreme quality. I understand that Kowa is what to buy when the time comes. |
Just a generic rating considering their entire product line (ACOG,Mini ACOG, Accupoint,Tri Power ETC.) If he asked specifically about different lines of products per Mfg. (IE rating a leupold VX1 or a LPS) I would rate the Acog 15 on His imaginary scale!!, If that makes any sence! |
