The FSB tapered pins come out right to left just like the exploded diagram in their catalog.

Whew!  I'm glad I checked before I started pounding away.

Well...  makes sense, it's a lefty upper, I guess everything has to be 'bass ackwards'.

Damn, that's sneaky.

Even though there is a "right way", I always do an idiot check and look for a bigger end and a smaller end.  If I can't tell, I measure.  That practice would have paid off here, for sure.

Yep, I took a spare tapered pin and compared the size of the ends.  I already had the barrel in the
vise blocks but decided to be 100% sure.  By eye they looked the same, but when I put the ends
of the taper pin up against the installed ones, you could definitely tell the difference.

Nope, it was still in the vise after removing the FH and I was using the vise as a third hand.

This whole discussion is redundant because removing the taper pins is FOR THE ARMORY ONLY!!!

That's what happens when you let a lefty build things. Door handles end up on wrong side also.

Good God, would you just shut up already.

Damn this is getting old.

And it would be moot, not redundant.

ARMORER's are hired by the OWNERs (the GOVERNMENT) of the rifles to perform maintenance in areas that require tools or suitable work areas that the OPERATORs (troops) don't have handy.  THAT IS ALL.  Some of you are buying Government manuals for your AR15s and are reading them as if you are fucking troops and it's getting pretty fucking old.

I am the OWNER AND OPERATOR of MY AR15.  There doesn't need to be a second person involved.
