I'm getting ready to put together an SPR with PRI forend and full length rail.  I'm just curious about what kind of weight I'm looking at when it's finished, minus scope.

I'd be interested in weight with optics, fully loaded. with ammo.

What is the barrel lenth? Is it a hevey , med contor?.  I have a 18 in with a Larue 13.2 in and noveke barrel plus a 10x ss.  LMT crane stock etc. all up about 12lbs.

Barrel profile is .980" at the breech for the 1st 2.600" then it tapers to .850" until it gets to the gas block (mid-length gas tube) and then steps down to .750" and is .725" at the muzzle.  It's 18" long with a Vortex suppressor.  I have the barrel blank but haven't turned it yet, but that's what it's going to be with 2 locations for a gas block so that I can use a full length forend with a mid-length gas block and then put the front sight on the forward gas block.  The gas block itself is a JP Enterprise adjustable unit.

It's going to have a SOPMOD stock, PRI forend, and Leupold 3x9 MR/T scope.

Thanks for the infor JD42.  I was just curious as to what the beast that I'm fixing to build will weigh.

The SPRish upper (I had done at Adco) weighs a ton all put together (with MagPul PRS stock, that thing weighs a lot).

If weight is an issue I would respectfully suggest not building an SPR.

Weight isn't really an issue, I'm just curious as to what to expect.  I shoot everything up to the .50 BMG, so I figure if I can carry that then I can figure out a way to manage an SPR.

I only shoot up to .308 but even I said "Dang!"

Next time I have my safe open I'll weigh the sucker.

Thanks macman.

What I'm trying to figure out about my .50 is how to get it in the safe with everything else that's already there!  Damn things not small
