I saw an ad in the SGN for SARCO listing a complete A2 upper with A1 barrel GI kit minus stripped receiver for ~$360.
Anybody here ever order one? Was wondering about the quality of the parts. They state in the ad that all the parts are "new or like new" Any info on these would be great. Looks like a cheap way to put together a good plinker.

I can reply only on the basis on other posts I've seen on this subject, from people who have gotten the kits. From what I've read, the major pieces; barrels, upper ecievers, etc are mil surp stuff, but the innards tend to be commercial items, which aren't necessarily top of the line. Haven't seen anyone post that the stuff didn't work, though.

My personal experience w/SARCO over the years, for non AR stuff, has been mixed.  Sometimes they'll send you brand new stuff, and sometimes it's used up crap.  So I don't buy from them unless it's for something I just can't find anywhere else.
