I have a Reflex that I picked up that came with the standard RX14 Flattop Mount. I have it on my A3 receiver, but it seems a bit high. Does anyone have either the Trijicon RX15 or ARMS Low Profile Mount? Could someone post a pic of either or both of these mounted? Does anyone sell these at a better price? Thanks. GO EAGLES! |

Take your Reflex off the weapon, look at the current mount. Between the mount and the sight assy you will see a black retangular plate/ spacer. Its held on with 3 screws if memory serves me. Remove the screws. Remove the plate. Reassemble minus the plate. Your sight dot is now approx 1/8" lower. Thats how I had my Reflex 2 setup. You might also notice that the sight assy sits off to the right a tad. Its normal. HTH. JohnM at Home |
It has a 2.8" HOB compared to the 2.6" HOB of the iron sights. Meaning it puts the irons in the lowe 1/3 of the display. That is a perfectly fine height - the same height the Aimpint with spacer sits at. I have the same combo on my M4gery, beleive me you don't want the lower weaver mount with a fixed front sight (BTDT). |

Thanks for the tip John, but I have a couple of questions. I took the Reflex off. As you said, there are 3 screws on the bottom - brass allen heads. I found the correct metric wrench and tried to loosen them. No luck. From your experience, does Trijicon use Loctite on them? Also, do you recall are they normal or reverse threads? Seeing as they are brass, I don't want to try forcing it and bugger the things up. |
YES they use Loctite! I just sent my brand new Reflex sight back to Trijicon to have them unscrew the sight from the mount. I tried, no luck. Took it to my gunsmith and he tried without success. I didn't want to bugger up the screws, so I called Trijicon and sent it to them. They seem to go WAY overboard with the Loctite. Tim |

It appears that they must be using locktite. My NSN came loose with no significant effort. The screws were tight but came out without heat or chemical removal aid. As to sight picture, mine was perfect. I love the dot centered in the FOV window of all my sights. Dot in upper FOV, I cannot see enough information beyond my target, causes me to scan too much.Distraction. Dot in lower FOV, my perspective is POA is too high. Loss of perspective. You decide on what it takes to make your shooting ability reactive and acurate. There is no one school of thought that is universal. Just guidelines to aid in developing your own ability. YMMV. Mine kept me alive during a living nightmare. Good luck. JohnM at Home |
