I need to get some steel AR15 mags.

Who makes the highest quality steel AR15 mag (non-stainless)?

Any decent US-made steel mags?

*puts on flame suit*

I've had zero issues with my C Products Defense stainless steel mags....

I've also got some AR stoner/ASC SS mags, but I've only got to shoot them once...can't really give a good opinion on those yet. They fed all 100 rounds I put in them so far

"decent" NON-stainless and USA made? AFAIK that does not exist. The Airtronic Fusil mags were good, but it doesn't look like they're being made.

If you want to try C-Product Defense or ASC buy them ONLY from a reputable vendor (like AIM or PSA) that will take returns, and test them immediately.

Avoid ProMag, National and any other bottomfeeders like the plague.

I like the e-lander mags they just make sure to get the gen 3. The earlier ones had trouble locking in to some lowers. They are the toughest mags you can buy imho.

not impressed with any of the US made ones...

I can recommend the old singapore / english made ones.  I still have several NIB.

FNC mags, although they lack hold open.

Old AR-180 Sterling mags also have the M16s series cut out notch

Latest gen of the elanders seem to have worked out all the bugs.

if it has to be stainless steel, the HK high reliablity mags are supposted to be good.

Precision Reflex has steel 5.56 magazines in 30,15, 10 and 5 rd. capacities. The PRI 6.8 magazines seem to have a decent reputation, but I've never seen anyone using or reviewing the 5.56 magazines. Considering the cost of other options (non-steel), the unit price is rather expensive.

Not even close!

They have weak springs and improper heat treating of the feed lips resulting in type III malfunctions.

HK, PERIOD! Still using my 8 year old HKs, survived three deployments, and years of training and abuse. Wouldn't trade them for anything!

Keep your eye on these. AR stoner/ASC SS mags

They drop to $8.99 - $9.99 pretty regularly and really are great mags.
