Would I be better off investing in lowers at the moment since other parts are hard to come by at the moment? Would I still be able to build that weapon if there was a ban(very doughtful in near future) or would production of "preban" parts stop (ie uppers and whatnot)? I've been wanting a beat around weapon for sometime and with the current climate I thing now might be a good time to invest in more weapons.

lowers are just as scarce and high priced too.

Yes it the lower that carries the serial number and therefore determines pre vs post ban.  But I would still save some money since things like LPKs, Mags, and uppers are still in production and will pop in and out of stock.  The key to finding them is pre-order or persistance.

I see some stripped Essential Arms lowers for under $200. It's high figureing they were $100 in October but still isn't that bad..
