When do you know if your mags are reliable enough to use in real applications (Patrol, HD,etc?) How many rounds do you guys put through them before they are trusted?

I'd like it to go through three mag fulls, being bump fired, without failure. Now that the AWB is dead, and I can get new mags easly, if a mag EVER fails to feed I just pullit out and toss it.

$20 worth of ammo later, plus a barrel that's been heated to the point of rapid wear......

Stick to new USGI mags ($11), test each by rotating them in during normal range fire.  I wouldn't waste ammo for the sole purpose of testing a mag.  Just keep the new mag seperate until its been fully loaded and used a couple times.

I mark mine with numbers, I load them all up and then take em and shoot them. Any mags that have had issues I shoot a few more through and see what the issue is. I bought a bunch of USGI LEO marked mags and have never had an issue. I did have issues with an occasional Israeli used orlite here and there, won't use them any more.

I never have had a problem (that wasn't caused by me) when using USGI magazines. When I get new mags they ususally get a ruler(depressed fully down than released), than loaded to capacity than unloaded with a LULA. It it hangs up or something, it gets the "range only" label.
