I have read from a number of posting that Colt never made a raised mag fence AR with a bayonet lug, but recently I have heard of a "white box" Colt that had all of the above features.  Is there any truth to this, and does a raised mag fence gov't barrel exist with a bayonet lug?

Not clear to your question, but,, I have a Gov't Sporter that replaced the Sporter 2 starting late '88/early '89. Mine is serial #'d below 4000. It is equipped with A2 stock, A2 sights, A2 pistol grip, A2 Gov't profile barrel-C-MP-1/7-5.56 NATO (skinny under handguard), A2 handguards, A2 flash hider, Large pivot pin, no mag button fence, and slight green tint to the parkerizing.

I bought mine "NEW" at FFL in Jan-'89.

My question is regarding the Model 6550 (no fence/with lug) which in 89/90 was replaced by the 6551 (no lug/raised fence).  I have heard recently of a "white box" (as opposed to green and blue boxes) which had the A2 barrel, raised fence and lug.  And I am curious if this really exists?
