| I'm looking at getting a LaRue Stealth upper in 16inch and having it cut down to 14.5 and having a suppressor mount permanently installed. My question is, what rail lenght do I choose to have the rail as close to the muzzle, without affecting suppressor installation and removal? |

I don't know the answer (I'm pretty new to AR's) but I think its a good question. I was thinking of doing something similar. I installed a 12 rail to go along with my 16" barrel. There doesn't seem to be a way to get "that look" with out going the SBR route. I could be wrong. Aren't suppressors around 6" long or more? Also... What's the process for getting a suppressor? Do you need a ATF stamp?
