Is this only necessary when using a full size stock?

If running a full size rifle stock, just stick to the std rifle buffer.

The "9mm" buffer (CAR style)  is slight more weight than the std rifle buffer -- rifle: 5.1oz,  "9mm" CAR: 5.5oz....

I plan to build a 9mm with a 6 position RRA stock. Should I get the 9mm buffer? Or stick with the stock 5.56 buffer?

If this is the stock you are referring to, then get the "9mm" (5.5oz) buffer for the weight.

That is the stock.

I hate asking so many stupid question about the 9mm setups. I read the FAQ and was still like WTF do I need. Now I can't decide what mag block I want. I do believe the mag block is what I'm going to buy first lol.
