Hi, Does anyone know if a Bushmaster lower requires a Mil-spec buffer tube or a commercial buffer tube?? I thought it was a Mil-spec tube, but want to make 100% sure. I am putting on a Magpul CTR stock and have to find the correct stock and buffer tube to order. They have both Mil-spec and commercial versions available. Thank you in advance!!

+1 Commercial size from the info here in previous threads.

The outside diameter of the commercial tubes should be 1.17" compared to the mil-spec size tubes' 1.14" OD.

Here's Magpul's CTR buffer tube ID info link.

Does a commercial buffer tube have 6 holes/indents on the bottom? or is it supposed to have 4 holes/indents on the underside of the tube? My tube has 6 holes/indents and does not slide back and fourth with the Magpul CTR stock I have. It only will lock on the first hole/indent. I think I may have got the Mil spec CTR stock and a commercial buffer. Please let me know if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks

Bushmaster's come from the factory with commercial tubes.  Both mil-spec an comm. come in 4 and 6 position.  You can replace the comm. tube with a mil-spec one on your rifle.  The threading is the same.  If you are keeping the orig. tube, and just buying the stock, you need to buy the comm. size one.
