Ok, my buddy has 16" Bushmaster sans flash-hider. Aparrantly he took it to some gunsmith today to inquire about having one put on. I guess the gunsmith didn't like the idea of turning down the barrel before threading it and told him..... "hey look up on ar-15...for flash suppressors with a tolerance of .575-.775" "the gunsmith said he would have to take off alot of the barrell to put on any a2 birdcage he has seen" "he said they come different but they usually use a real common thread" "its not the thread that is the problem" "its the width...the inside hole" "he's an ar dealler" < my personal fav. Anyway, I told him the guy was full of it and the way you mount flash-hiders is by turning down the barrel and threading it and to just send the damn thing to Adco like I told him to when he bought it last year. Of course, there's always the (very minute) chance I was wrong, so I figured if I'd check on here to see if anyone makes something that could accomodate him. |
