I've loaded Hornady 130gr SST's magazine length (PRI magazine) up to 2220 fps for use in a standard chamber with 1;10 twist 16" barrel. The SPs should do as well (if not better).

Thanks Forest, that is good news. I planned to buy PRI mags after reading the condensed FAQ. I'm slowly building a 6.8, maybe by the time I have it completed, I'll have all of my equipment for reloading. But that doesn't stop me from planning...

Right now I'm using the 130's for 2 things, with the help of Constructor
1) A Major Power factor load for use with an 18" barrel. I'll be using 130gr Sierra Game Kings which are similar to the bullet you're selecting IIRC. 2) A subsonic load that cycles the action. I'm playing with both my leftover SSTs and the Game Kings. |
