I've been reading over the directions for sighting in an A2 given the standard U.S. Military method.

Ok, question on this part:

Barrel Length Change Per Click

20" 3/8" for Elevation

20" 1/8" for Windage

14.5"/16" 1/2" for Elevation

14.5"/16" 3/16" for Windage

Does that mean I need to convert the number of clicks on the target paper? I.E., say i'm hitting to the left and the target tells me to turn windage clockwise 12 clicks. 12 clicks for a 20" rifle would be 12/8" (24/16) inches or 1.5 inches. 1.5 inches on a carbine equals 8 clicks counterclockwise ( 3/16" x 8 clicks = 24/16" or 1.5 inches)

I'm not a math guy so i could be way off. Please someone tell me if i'm right here! BIG thanks.

OOOr maybe I can just use the M4 zero target! Ahhah. I just dl'd it from the maryland ar shooters site. How is that going to work though since i believe that target is a lot bigger than an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper?

Just cut (with your mouse) out an 8.5X11 piece (the center part and paste it onto a blank sheet. Or just print it, it doesn't need to be perfect. The problem with resizing it is you'll change the size of the squares. If the size of the square changes then their value also changes. The sight values for the M4 sights (A2 rear and front with 14.5" SR) are as follows. 0.68MOA wind 1.70MOA front elevation an M16A2 uses 0.50MOA windage 1.25MOA front elevation. It would help to know what sight and sight radius you are using as well as at which distance you are zeroing. With the Army zero targets when used at 25 metres all you have to do it count the number of squares from your POI to your POA and put that number of clicks on the applicable sight. [grammah]

thanks for the reply. One more question. I have printed out the M4 25 meter zeroing target from the marylandar site. When it printed it came out to fit an 8.5x 11 piece of paper just perfectly. Did it get resized? 1 square on my printout is equal to exactly 1/2".

Close enough spookyspiff. Notice that there are 3 clicks of windage, and 1 click of elevation per square on the M4 zero target.

The 25M zeroing target should be 8.5"x11" - that target represents a man at 300M kneeling. Sorry I can't scan the full size 175M targets [:(]. BTW we also have the targets scaled for use at 50 yards (again they print on 8.5"x11" paper) with the proper grid squares if you'd rather use the superior IBSZ. There are versions for the M16A2 and the M4 (just like the 25M targets).

Sure ya can Forest! Just break the 175M target into 8.5"X11" rectangles. [;D]
