I have a Ballistic Advantage barrel that is coated in QPQ.

I need to remove some adhesive left over from Gorilla Tape (their strong stuff) and wanted to know what you recommend to remove the adhesive without harming the coating.

Thanks in advance.

QPQ is more of a finish than a coating. Do not use anything abrasive and you should be fine.

Also known as 'Tufftride', or 'Melonite'. Used for years on high performance crankshafts.

Yeah its not a surface finish in any sense as a coating. Its more of a surface hardening or treatment that goes into the molecular structure of the steel. Goof Off or WD40 or even acetone will be fine on a terry cloth to scrub with.

QPQ is nitriding (Ferritic nitrocarburizing ).

It is a surface treatment, a proprietary case hardening process that diffuses nitrogen and carbon into ferrous metals at sub-critical temperatures during a salt bath. Not a coating.

Quench-Polish-Quench (QPQ) Process

This is done by immersing the parts in specially formulated 'salts' between 400°C - 425°C (750°F -800°F); (2) Polishing: to improve surface finish and (3) Re-oxidation: to recover the oxide layer thickness that may have been lost during the polishing step.

Oil. Whatever you have handy. CLP, mineral oil, cooking oil, WD40, whatever. It softens the adhesive so you can wipe if off.

Update: used some non-chlorinated brake cleaner and it came right off. Quick wipe down with CLP and that was it.
