| Finally got all my parts in to finish my build (at least enough to be ready to fire). Is there a good detailed procedure to follow leading up to, and during firing for a new build? |

-Check the bore for obstructions. I've had burrs left behind from having the gas port drilled.
-Function check firearm. I don't remember it all off-hand, but a detailed explanation of a function check has to be around here somewhere. -Check headspace. A lot of people say that you don't need to do this, but I have had headspace checks fail on new builds. -Check your ammo and make sure that it is acceptable to use in your gun. |
