Last night I loaded up a bunch of Pmags with the intention of making it to the range today. That never happened. Was wondering should I unload all my mags or is it OK to leave them loaded for a while, and how long? Concerned about the spring staying compressed for an extended time.

What wears the spring out is constant loading and unloading

Loading mags and keeping them loaded with have no detrimental effect on the spring

Either keep 'em loaded or keep 'em unloaded

I've had some loaded for over a year and don't wouldn't have any problem counting on any one of them to save my life if I needed it. I've heard of people with pmags loaded for 5 or so years and shot them and worked great.

I keep all my pmags (30 ish) loaded in a big tub and just grab a random group on range days and just fill em back up when I'm done. I'm sure some on the bottom have been there for years but I can't tell nor do I bother too.

I compared springs from mags that I have had loaded for 4 years, springs from mags I had loaded for 2 weeks and springs from mags I had never loaded.

The springs from mags loaded 4 years and 2 weeks were the same length.  The mags that were never loaded at springs about 2 inches longer.

Springs will shorten from being loaded to a "set" length.

Luckily you are in a free state and can go buy a $10-$12 PMag whenever you need to, so don't worry so much about the spring.
