Anyone aware of a gas piston retrofit kit that would work on a RRA EOP Varmint bull barrel? It is a 20" stainless bull barrel with a barrel diameter of .920" in front of gas block and 1.050" under handguard.

Thanks

There might be one kit out there...but why would you possibly need an op rod on a 20" rifle gas AR?

To keep the hot dirty gas out of the upper receiver... The one kit would be?

I looked and couldn't find it. I think they stopped making it.

It is absolutely unnecessary for your application.

I'm just curious as to why you say that.

I am not aware of any reliability issues with 20" AR-15s.

They are, after all, the rifle "as it was designed to be".

Having fired standard ARs for thousands of rounds between cleanings, and having tried piston conversions, I can confidently say that unless you do a lot of full auto, suppressed, SBR type shooting a piston will be of no practical benefit to you...and when I say "a lot", I mean that you're replacing barrels every few months.

You're welcome, no problem with being a noobie and it's always good to ask questions before you buy...
