i know that it really isn't functionally different than many other folding sights but i really like that it is the same shape as a fixed sight when up.

I agree, great mechanical look when it's up. More solid looking than most flip ups.

How sturdy does it lock up and down? Worth the coin?

it's very sturdy they took the time to make it work. i went back and forth on weather or not to spend the money on it (163.00 ish IIRC) and finally decided that it was going to be more worth it to do so. plus the bbl i had had not been drilled for pins and being my first build i didn't want one more thing to have to learn to do.

so i say if you haven't bought some quality components already and have a flip rear sight then there is no reason not to buy it if that is what you want.
