OK I have been trying to search and find an answer.

On a 16" Barrel Threaded If you put lets say a AK style brake on. Does it have to be PINNED AND WELDED. Or can it just be welded for use on a PostBan AR15.

Thanks so just welding is ok without the pinning has I understand. Isn't Silver Solder the same has welding?

I have been useing the High Temp paste without pinning.

High Temp Solder?  This is not the same a silver solder.  Sure it is silver in color, but silver solder melts at about 1100 degrees F.  If your barrel is 16" why do you want to permantly attach a flash suppressor?  Are you in a state that requires it?  Probably so since you are from NY.

Yea I live in NY...I use the Fusion 1260 silver braze melts @1220 Deg F.

I use it for the FAL's I do but I need to put a AK47 Brake back on a 16" after I floated it.

The big question is does Pinning have to be done in NY on a 16" PostBan Rifle.

pinning is just one of the ways to permanently attatching the muzzle device which is what is required.

No, Batf states that the solder has to have a flow point of higher than 1160*.  Just make sure you get bond .
