Hey, ooh-rah, and all that.

What did you call your pack? Anybody from the Corps ever use the term "ruck?"

Is this a west coast thing?

I did four in the Grunts and never heard a Marine use that term.

I think I've spotted (smelld) a BS'er.

I did 9 yrs. 9 month and 26 days. I was an 0861.

We called it a Ruk, or Mountain Ruk.

PS. Of course I was an East Coast Marine (A.K.A. War Fighters)

Yep, heard it from my son. He's a machinegunner with 2/8. When I was in, in the early 80's we never called it a ruck, it was either the big ALICE or the small ALICE.

Never heard of "ruck". I was west coast.

Now, "Ass-Pack"...we had those.

Never heard the term "ruck." We always used the term "pack."

Called it a ruck both as a Marine and Army infantryman.
