www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=506010&perpage=25&highlight=&pagenumber=1You gotta check out this thread I just ran across on GT. Extreme Shock's reply(from the president himself):
That's no problem. I read the boards from time to time and get a chuckle out of what they say, I can tell that most all the critics have never tried the ammo. But first off users are Warrenton Training Center Dutch Air Marshals Dutch Military and Spec Forces CSX Railroad CTT Miami Dade Miami Dade Int Airport UAE Counter Terrorist Team Springfield Mo tact team and police force, these are the ones that stick out in my mind 12-million rounds 5.56 12 million rounds 9-mm to overseas allies Just sold 9 million bullets to another ammo company to be delivered over a 2 year period, We will be supplying Ruag of Germany bullets in 308 & 7mm for their premium hunting round, small amount of only 4 million or so. Being adopted by Scotsdale AZ police dept. FBI Being tested by Abui Dabhi, French, German Spec Forces. we were picked up by RSR, Sports South, ArmChar, Elliott Bros at the shot show this year.
It is a powder metal bullet with greater penetration than lead ever thought about because the core is made out of tungsten powder metal enclosed in a copper jacket. It is designed to fragment into millions of pieces of powder metal dust once inside the soft target. It has the ability to penetrate through thick hide, bone and get into the fluid area which is what makes a bullet either fragment or expand if it is a lead bullet. When it fragments, it causes so much damage that it shocks the central nervous system and shuts it down from overload. Where as a lead bullet has to have penetration to get to the organs and hopefully then, maybe if the shot is well placed, do some or enough damage to stop the guy. We are able to do it through massive damage and shock, much faster than a lead bullet can. So for us shot placement is not as critical as with a lead bullet.
We use 10 % gel to get a base line as to what a bullet will do, but before we sign off on it, we go into the field and kill several hogs and deer, wild dogs, etc. open them up and see the results. when I hear a guy say that he shot it into wet phone books, I laugh or the lab that says we shot it into gel and only got 7 in of penetration so we can't recommend this as a self defense round I roll my eyes back in my head and laugh in disgust. My response to that group is yes, but did you get your hands bloody. Their answer is always we can't go hunting everytime we want to test a bullet. We have to have a standard. Which is ok for a starting point especially for a lead bullet cause with lead it always has to do with penetration. But for our bullet it CAN NOT tell you what the final result will be unless you kill game. For this stance we have been criticized of being inhumane. But quite frankly I don't really care what it does in wet phone books or gel blocks setting on a bench. What I want to know is what is it going to do to a 400 lb mad fighting boar. Now if it takes him down with one shot of a sub caliber pistol then I will know what it will do in a 250 lb attacker. If you have any more questions please feel free to give me a call. jm President
