I don’t have a clone. Just a 14.5 upper on a LMT lower. The rail is dark. I wouldn’t call it bronze because it’s darker. But like what they call Like a bronze painted car if that makes sense. Attached File |

Great reference. I am sure as long as the URGI is in use, the supply system will start receiving the insert MK16. Geissele has stated the insert is included with all manufactured MK16 now. That is what we are seeing show up with more recently purchased and issued uppers now. If CD had stayed over there a few more years he would have more evidence. ETA: I am pissed I couldn't have stayed in the ASOS long enough to have a URGI issued to me. I retired in 2017 with an M4 Carbine and Elcan. |

I’m sure qd inserts will pop up over time, however the reality is they aren’t going to replace rails that are still functional just to add the qd insert, and considering the 14.5”s were mostly converted from block 2s whereas the 11.5”s were newly assembled I think it’s unlikely many 14.5”s with qds will ever pop up because basically the whole of the inventory was already converted using non insert rails, and it’s not very likely that a rail be destroyed and need to be replaced. I foresee as time goes on and the end of the URGI eventually comes around, what will ultimately be clone correct is 50/50 qd or not for 11.5” but basically non qd is the only clone correct for 14.5” |

Disregard below text. This is the rail-mounted GL version, but missing the launcher itself. Not sure how I missed it before. One of the reference photos I had posted of the 1st Ranger Battalion is actually a 14.5”. I went a little further and looked up the specific training event on that date and found another as well. One shows a URGI equipped with an Eotech, and the other an Aimpoint. (Even 14.5s are being distributed) Updated album of just the 1st Ranger Battalion 14.5s w/ steel QD, plus another 11.5” with QD in the same photo. imgur link to photos [EDIT]: Pay close attention to the mag pouches on the plate carrier. One is unique, easier to spot. |

Been awhile since I’ve touched my rifles due to life. Couple questions for you nerds: -Have T2’s replaced the EXPS3-0 as the issued reflex sight? Seems like I’ve seen more of the former on URGIs. -Are the Vortex 1-6 EBR7’s THE magnified optic for the 75th’s carbines? Also, I'm looking for a non-reinforced QD socket 13.5" MK16 if anyone has a lead on one, or has an extra. |

| The t2 has not replaced the exps3, iirc the m231 is replacing the su231/a but rangers still have eotechs and t2s and sf has both as well but typically what I see is an oda will typically favor one or the other and everyone or most everyone will rock the same optic. The Ebr7f is not the only RR carbine optic. They still actively use eotechs and t2s quite a bit and as far as magnified optics go there’s also the leupolds (mk5 I think?) that you see on the SNOT URGIs and I’m not positive but I think much like sf there are personal purchase LPVOs around as well. |

Stripped the paint off my 14.5 upper. Debating if I want to sell off the NF LPVO setup and replace with a T2 and magnifier. I like the NF a lot but it sure is heavy and I'm not sure if I'm a LPVO guy. Attached File |
