It’s a recent revision that’ll be rolling out to all rails.
Source Machined sockets in 6061 can eventually fail with heavy use. It’s rare but I’ve read about it happening more than once. |

I'm a bit confused as to the height of the Spuhr HRT mounts? Are they a lower 1/3 cowitness or just a little higher?

Now you don’t have to get a steel qd sling mount which clutters up the rail and adds weight |

View Quote I just installed the Spuhr HRT mount on my Colt. The Spuhr mount puts the center line of the T2 at 1.615” above the rail. It’s more of a lower 1/4 height due to the small diameter of the T2 but you can still run iron sights through it. Mile High Shooting has the HRT mount in stock. It’s really nice and in my opinion it is superior to DD with the spacer. Of course it was almost a c note more |

I know it's established that they use VTAC slings. Does anyone know for certain which version for the regional swat and the HRT?

I went all in and have the ODG Fed rail coming. Here’s where I’m at:
Colt Upper - either C marked or Cage Code. Have both, have not decided yet Colt 6933 barrel - stripped from Brownells Colt Charging Handle Colt BCG Geissele Mk4 Federal in ODG A2 flash hider Aimpoint T2 Spuhr HRT mount Colt M4LE factory SBR lower with the original FCG, buffer tube, and H1 buffer Magpul ODG CTR A2 grip The only things I don’t have are the gas block, AFG, sights, sling, and Surefire M300. I’ll be using an Arisaka 300 I have on hand until I have funds for the M300. Still figuring out the gas block. |

I've read through about half this thread and it seems that there's at least a little disagreement on whether HRT or SWAT uses the ODG? I'm a fan of all four colors used in the Mk4 fed rail, but would like to know with some certainty who uses what? Anyone have links they can provide? |

ODG - Regional SWAT DDC - HRT Black - Individual Agents Grey - Vehicle Teams IIRC, there was an agent in this thread who verified this. |

Someone posted a photo of an in service regional SWAT rifle that had the Spuhr mount as well. I bought my Spuhr before I saw that because I’ve had the DD in the past and wasn’t fond of it. The Spuhr mounting system is superior in every way. Now that it’s been seen in the wild, even if rare on a regional SWAT rifle, it’s “correct”.

Doing a Regional Swat and HRT build. I pondered the gas block situation as for the Regional build I have a complete upper and a separate stripped barrel and gas block. pretty much talked me into going the shaved Colt FSB on both I think from a functionality standpoint |

Those Gov ODG handles seem to be the rarity now and aren’t even clone correct. The Thenar stop is the really odd ball clone correct part |

Probably is actually chopped. Dude I knew went to Midsouth and chopped off his beaver tail on their recommendation. Eta- I wasn’t sure if I’d like the Troy alpha rail, due to negative experiences I’ve read about, but I must say it’s becoming a favorite. It locks up way tighter than I thought it would. I’ll likely have to put some loctite on the mounting screws to prevent them from backing out under recoil. I originally put an accessory rail at 6 o’clock for an afg or vfg, but it’s such a comfortable rail as is, that I may not use a vfg or afg. Attached File |
