Shows how good my memory is, I saw a pic in the BA barrel thread and thought it looked awesome. It's a great build, hope it shoots well for you.

Got the scope mounted and the gas block installed. Just waiting on open machine time to throw up the rail and machine out some clearance for the taller block. Still trying to decide if the scope is mounted too far back due to the non-cantilever mount. The eye relief seems comfortable in a standing position but I'm not sure how it would be prone yet.

I also posted this over on the 6.5 forum. I've been working on this for a while. The upper fought me every step of the way, but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I got it to the range yesterday and managed to get 50 rounds of Hornady Black through it. I spent the first couple of hours getting the gas adjusted and cleaning the bore after each of the first 6 shots. There were some other guys at the range that wanted to come over and talk, so I didn't get as much shooting done as I would have liked. My groups were nothing impressive by most standards, but I don't think any of them (all 5 shot groups) were over 1.5". My eyes aren't very good anymore and I'm really struggling with my bifocals and the scope. I'm going to talk to my eye doc and see if he can do anything for me. I'm anxious to get my son and one of his buddies behind the scope and see what they can do with their younger eyes. The only issue I had with the rifle was that the bolt didn't want to strip the top round from the magazine and feed it when charging the chamber with the charging handle. If the bolt was closed via the bolt release, I never had an issue. The only mags I have right now are some C Products 5-rounders. Black is the only factory ammo I currently have, but I've got 250 new cases ready to load and several different kinds of powder and bullets to experiment with. This thing will primarily be used for punching paper and shooting steel informally at a friend's farm. We've got steel set up at 200 yds., 300 yds., 400 yds., and 525 yds. We can possibly get out to around 925-950 yards if we change directions and put targets on his brother's farm next door, but we haven't done that yet.

Just built a lightweight hunting rig with a Faxon 20” fluted barrel. Plan on only shooting factory loads and have been very pleased with 123 ELDs so far. Have shot it out to 500 yards so far and it has been moa/sub moa.

In in my haste to get it ready prior to shooting, I didn’t torque the rings properly and had the rear ring of the mount loosen during shooting, but it still performed very well despite having a loose rear ring (discovered after shooting).

Upper:
Bootleg Lightweight upper
Midwest industries 12.5” Lightweight mlok rail
Faxon 20” Fluted Match 1/8 twist SAAMI barrel
2a titanium Gas block
AIM Surplus Light weight bolt carrier
Precision Firearms bolt

Lower:
Mag Tactical Lightweight lower
Geissele SSA trigger
BAD Sabertube
Carbine buffer/spring

Optics:
Nightforce Ultralight 1.5” high Unimpunt
Bushnell Elite LRS 3-12x44 with BTR Mil reticle
Vortex Bubble level
Trijicon RMR RM01 on angles flashlight mount

Cycles perfectly despite not having adjustable gas. Weighs 7 lbs 9oz unloaded and just under 8lbs with a loaded mag. Group shown was at 300 yards taking about 3-4 seconds between shots with a sandbag front and a loose rear ring on the scope mount.

I will Likely remove the RMR to shave off a few more (4-5ish) ounces. The reticle design is pretty quick at 3x.

Going out next weekend to sight in my 12" Faxon barreled 6.5 grendel.  I really like this mega upper and how tight the faxon barrel fit into it.  I had to heat the receiver up in order for barrel to fit.  Don't think I need to bed this one.

Picked up the Vortex 2x10 gen 2 for $690 so  even though it is not the lightest scope out there, happy with the price versus features.

It works well and was able to consistently hit around 1 moa at 100 yards with the faxon 12" and a sandman s.  I was averaging around 2320 fps at 1100 ft at 72 degrees and 66% humidity and 28.50 hg

This barrel is more accurate than what I can shoot. I had numerous clover leafs but mess up the of one shots to make it around an inch.. I just need more practice.

Black 123gr shoots an inch higher than the 123 sst with my barrel at 100 yards.

Which PST are you getting? I had the Gen1 2.5-10x32 and it was great out to 900m even without a 20moa mount. That was on a 16inch barrel!
