I am under the impression that an AR lower w/ buffer assembly and stock can be directly assembled to an upper for a complete weapon. If one buys a lower without a stock and it happens to not include the buffer assembly, is this a problem?

I guess my main question is whether the buffer assembly generally comes with an AR's stock (so i will get one when i buy a stock) or if it is a seperate part altogether that i will have to track down.

In all honesty, i dont even know what a buffer assembly is. Thanks in advance for the help.

You will need to buy a stock with a buffer assembly kit or a buffer assembly kit by itself if the stock doesn't come with one.

Some companies will sell the stock assembly which comes with the buffer, buffer tube, spring and stock.  Some companies sell the parts separately.  You just have to know what you're buying.
