| Received my barrel today, and assembled my upper. All parts are new. RRA upper, CMT bolt, and 6X45 barrel from AR15barrels dot com. After getting everything together, I put the bolt/carrier in, and couldn't get it to lock up. I could push with a considerable degree of force, but the bolt wouldn't close all the way. I pulled the bolt our of my RRA carbine (less than 100 rounds) and it worked fine in the new build. Put the CMT bolt into the RRA, and it worked fine. Test fired the new build, and it functions fine with the RRA bolt. Not a big deal, I'll just switch bolts, as that seems to work ok for both guns. Just curious about the issue. Perhaps a bolt and barrel extension at opposite ends of the spec? Lugs a little large/small on one or the other? |
