There are so many to choose from, and they sort of all look the same to me.  I need something that is sturdy and as compact as possible.  Any suggestions?

Most compact?

KAC 300M or the ARMS#40L

I'm a fan of the ARMS BUIS's myself.

Some flip-ups, like the GG&G MAD sight, don't seem to lay completely flat.

Knights is the basic most minimal, but the pop-out apature is goofy

I prefere either a GG&G A2 (after using both it and the MAD site) or Troy Industries.  Both are low profile enough not to interfere with electronic optics, or ACOG..

the Troy is my favorite and I think they are def. sturdier then the ARMS but I can't speak on the MAD or the KAC

Ok, I'm in the market for one too and can't really read athrough the abbreviations - can anyone post links to any or all of the aforementioned rear BUIS's?  THANK YOU

Dang, nothing cheaper?  I might as well just buy a carry handle.

Are you kidding? the MAD is probably the flattest of all of the flipups.

That's what you would think, but I've seen a picture of the sight flipped down.  It sort of rests at an angle.  If anyone has a pic, please prove me wrong.

Trick, you are correct, it is designed to ress at an angle when down.  The idea is, so you can get a thumb under it to flip it up.

nice picture post Norman!!

No rear BUIS is as compact as a KAC 300m. Its been my favorite for years.

I picked up a Yankee Hill Machine flip-up rear sight a while back.  It looks pretty similar to the GG&G, and seems to be well made.  I haven't seen a lot of them around, but I think Either Bushy or RRA was reselling them.
