Buy in this order if funds allow:
Colt LMT Noveske BCM Sabre as for the others, well, don't go there unless budget mandates, and in that case, go Stag CMMG Del-ton Mega Most other brands (sundevil, Spikes, LRB, this one, that one, theres hundreds of them) And the last on the list generally is... Olympic Arms DPMS Vulcan My advice, get a flattop 16" barrel (mid length or carabine) with 1/7 twist (preferred) or 1/9 twist barrel, with colapsable stock (if legal), and a forward rail (Dainel Defense, etc). Add red dot optic (Aimpoint T-1) in Larue mount, BUIS (Troy rear flip, or Larue Fixed rear), Vickars sling, and Surefire (or similar) light in a Larue mount. Get some rail ladders or covers for your rails, and add a forward pistol grip if you want/or legal. Add a bunch of Pmags, USGI mags, or CProducts mags (always test), and a few thou of ammo and your set. The 1/7 twist will allow you to shoot bullet weights between 55 gr and 80 gr. The 1/9 twist will allow you to shoot bullet weights of 40 gr - 62 gr. most effectively, but there are exeptions. Then get some training. Front sight, Thunder ranch, Gunsight, LFI, etc.. anything to learn how to use the tool effeciently. Then practice regularly. |

This is of course 1 mans opinion, some would disagree with that list, keep that in mind. I personally like CMMG for a couple of reasons, contrary to what most will say, they're as good as colt, from the machine work I've seen, CMMG is better, and they have a much better warranty. Colt 1yr, CMMG lifetime. and a CMMG can be had for $800 while a Colt will cost you $1200 or better. As for the rest on the top of the list, I can't speak to them as I have never owned one. just my .02 |
