I got a bolt/carrier from a vendor to which I will keep anonymous and have no idea who made it. The bolt/carrier is marked with a "D". Does this mean DPMS?

That's exactly how my DPMS bcg looks.
ETA: Another giveaway is the 'chaterry' machine work
& unshrouded firing pin

Thats a DPMS

Their carriers look crude but i've never had any trouble with them.
