This is my current collection waiting for a gun safe. From left to right.

1. Stag Arms lower with Oly Arms .45 cal upper and a Sten mag with KKF magwell block. Shoots HP, .45 from the Sten mags.

2. Home built 80% lower with Model 1 Sales 7.62x39 upper, Cav Arms Blue Stock set and 20rd, USA Franken mag.

3. Bushmaster M4 upper and lower, 14.5" barrel w/phantom FS, Aimpoint red dot, First Samco flashlight mount, Cav Arms butt stock, pistol grip, KAC RAS, tan rail covers, vertical grip, Spec-Ops Mamba sling. The upper is the one I used in Iraq during OIF II.

4. Springfield Armory, 1911-A1, .45 pistol w/ wrap around finger grove rubber grip.

My .45 GAP upper will be finished next week. It's getting the barrel extension pinned right now. It will use a Larue FF rail HG.

My next project is necking up a 7.62x39 round to 8x39mm using MP44, .323 caliber bullets. Waiting on donor barrel now. It will be able to use existing 7.62x39 mags and bolt, just uses a new barrel.

nice rifles

how well does the Samco mount work?  i.e. does it securely hold your flashlight, does it wobble on the rail, what O.D. flashlight would work best?

I'm in the market for a mount and have scouted the GG&G unit.  Just making sure i haven't passed on a viable alternative before I buy.

The Samco mount allows the light to slide forward a little. I had to retighten it every few days while in Iraq. The set screw, screws into the plastic and does not stay tight. For home defense it might be OK. For any tactical ops, I'd get a metal mount.

I used a Surfire G2 light and it was well worth the $34. It wasn't as bright as the 9V issue lights but I didn't get one so I used what I had. My next light will be a Pentagon light with the integral lever mount.

Is the blue one for hiding it when the UN helmets come?
Nice guns, but they are too clean. Hit em with a hammer a few times, drive over them with a deuce and cover them with tar and pebbles, you'll get more results. Your next one gonna be a "20?

thanks for the info.  sounds like I wasn't passing much up.

if you happen to pick up one of those pentagon lights with the integral ARMS mount, IM me...those too have caught my eye.  If the quality is there, they're one hell of a deal.

My low budget Olympic camera will not do close ups. The pics come out blury.

Interesting/unusual coincidence... I'm about to "adorn" both of my 7.62x39mm ARs with blue furniture as well.

They have both been tan until now, but I prefer "odd" colors for my non-5.56mm ARs (instant differentiation) and tan has become too "mainstream" now.  I recently traded for two blue sets of CavArms furniture, so I'll use the tan sets on some of my more "traditionally-chambered" ARs.

Nice firearms, BTW.

Nice collection.  Just curious though why did you decide on blue?

Admitting you don’t own a safe, I’d say that’s your current collection waiting to be stolen!

Just kidding, nice weapons!

Nice.

How's the 7.62 work, reliability-wise?

I'm still looking for red or yellow furniture for a 'Dewalt' or 'Milwaukee'  build.

Cool toys, I haven't seen one in blue before.  Buy a safe, man!

Nice line-up, CHASER.

I love that last comment. I get the image of a mad scientist in his basement- cooking up devious new rounds/rig combos.

Classic  stuff.

Oh and stop that "heres the upper I used in Iraq" stuff, you are givng Bushmaster a good name

I am really liking the blue furniture.
Sometimes it's good to break out of the norm.
As far as close-up photography goes? Try a tripod and use the self timer function.  This may help eliminate blurry pictures. If you say the camera does not have macro function then I believe you. But even without this feature, your pictures will probably improve.

Absolutely. I didn't get to go hunting with your dad as I got stuck doing a Veteran's Day ceremony at MSU right in the middle of that 4 day weekend. This year, I am going hunting!

Sounds good.  Can't wait to get back to the States, its been 3 long years.  Got to love those Color Guards, brings back good memories.  I'm the Rear D Commander for our Company right now, you can imagine the Drama going on with the Company deployed...  I am applying for Civil Affairs right now to switch branches from MP.  The board meets in April so see if I made the selection.  Would be supporting Special Operations @ Bragg, so hope I get selected.

Anyway give my greetings to the crew @ MSU, take care.
