| Hello everybody, I will be posting my first AR15 build! So far I have a complete lower I built using an Aeroprecision stripped lower, ACT Combat Trigger, Magpul Moe trigger guard, Moe+ Grip, Moe stock, ASAP plate, and BAD lever, Guntec milspec stock kit with heavy buffer, Noveske ambi short throw saftey, ambi mag release. For the upper, I bought a BCM blem stripped upper with parts kit and a BCM bcg (still waiting on bcg, but I just ordered last night when they came in stock.) The build is going to be on hold though for a few months while I build my savings account back up. But the rest of the upper will include a Windham Weaponry 14.5 barrel kit and a Raptor charging handle. Pics to follow shortly! |

Looks awesome! How do you like the lower? I plan on doing green for safety off. Mostly because everybody does the red and white for the safety, I like different. I just havent found a green I like, either to bright or to dark. Im loving it... Upper is also a Aero... Only have around 600rds down the pipe but so far so good. |

To fill in the engraved parts? I just use fingernail polish and remover to remove the excess. Works great!
Whats ya'lls opinions on Troy Battlerails? I'm looking at the 9inch modular free-float. My goal is to make this gun as light as I can while still being able to enjoy shooting it. I've installed and handled a few but never paid attention to the weight or quality until now when I am building my own ar15. |

Did they have a green close to the color of a green light? What do you use to remove the excess? They had tons of colors... I actually used the wifes jewelry cleaner solution |

Read your topic, and had to post a friendly note of caution in regards to your choice of color on the "safe/fire" indicator. The gun safety adage of "red is dead" the traditional use of the color of red, to indicate the gun is hot and ready to fire. Adding green to the "fire" position is asking for serious problems, if someone picks up the firearm not familiar w/ an AR, could very easily accidentally discharge the rifle thinking it was "safe". Being "different" is great. But swapping the traditional red = fire and green = safe is simply not wise, if not careless... Not trying to be a troll or criticize, but accidents happen. People die everyday from preventable accidents. Study how XD45ACP did his. This is the correct use of red. Best of luck w/ the build. |
| Thanks! So far I'm loving it!! Trying to adjust from cars to guns haha. My Trans Am tore up and I'm tired of fooling with it so it got parked, so now gotta switch hobbies and this one cost just at much! haha, at least this is somewhat of an investment. (no beer for me yet, aint 21 haha) |
