Is it possible to have a non-threaded (plain muzzle) bushmaster superlight barrel threaded in such a manner that a PWS FSC 5.56 can be attached or is the barrel just too thin?

Yep. It is .570" at the muzzle, which leaves enough to thread 1/2-28.
