ETA: gone again - estimated re-stock 8/1/08
================================== FYI guys, I just got email notification from Midway USA for Ciener kits for $150.99 www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=414445 I already got mine earlier this year, but here's your chance to get one. |
Gone now. Ciener Conversion Kit Atchisson AR-15 with 10-Round Magazine 22 Long Rifle Matte Product #: 414445 Dealer Price: $136.00 Retail Price: $150.99 Status: Out of Stock, No Backorder Date Expected In-Stock: 8/1/2008 |
I got in about 15 minutes before they sold out. I'm holding my breath waiting for the status to change from processing to shipped.
Figures I let my C&R expire a couple of months agohinking.gif Even at $150 it's a good deal these days. |
Thanks for the tip dizzy. I ordered mine at 11:30am.
Now I need to get some BDM mags. |
I about crapped in my pants when I got the long awaited email notification of "in stock" this morning. I made a mad scramble for my wallet. I had snoozed too long last time they were in stock, trying to come up with a "decent size" order, to "save" on shipping, and by the time I got an order together, too late!
Anyway, mine is showing as "shipped", UPS tracking number posted, and nothing backordered. |
They probably all sold to people who already have two kits and decided to pick up another to make a profit off of. eta: finally got one on order, shipped yesterday. |
I just checked to see if mine was shipped and it was. I looked at the product page again for S's&G's and it now shows AVAILABLE again.
Be quick! |
Is it just me, or when they magically reappeared in stock, didn't the price go up? Like an increase of $9.99 for retail, $3.99 for dealer?
I remember when they did that with GP11 7.5 Swiss ammo a while back. Had a huge rush when they got it back in stock, supposedly forgot to "update the price", then increased price by a huge percentage, like 50%. |
Yup , Midway boosted the price by several dollars. It's a hot seller. When I bought mine a few months ago it was $139. Brownell's has it listing for $160 for the 10 rd kit, $201 for the 25rd kit (currently out of stock too) |
I think you missed my point. They were selling at one price this morning, went "out of stock", and an hour or so later it was in stock again, at the higher price. All in the same day. I can understand a price increase between shipments, but come on, the same day? It's only a few bucks difference, but .............
This morning: Ciener Conversion Kit Atchisson AR-15 with 10-Round Magazine 22 Long Rifle Matte Product #: 414445 Dealer Price: $136.00 Retail Price: $150.99 This afternoon: Ciener Conversion Kit Atchisson AR-15 with 10-Round Magazine 22 Long Rifle Matte Product #: 414445 Dealer Price: $139.99 Retail Price: $159.99 |
yep thats definatly true...price got bumped 9.99.
Looks like I save 10bucks |
I Love Midway but I have had some trouble getting CORRECT pricing to come up at times. It takes a few tries sometimes. Who knows, Gas Stations change Prices all the time, May be a new trend on Gun Parts?HappySO-13

Looks like the are back in stock. Just looked at the website at 11:30 CST.
Good luck! jonblack |

Too cool I have been wanting to buy one for some time! hmaster
God bless Midway for supporting us shooters and the NRA. I have an Advantage Arms .22 kit for my Glock 23 and shoot the heck out of it. It never fails with Remington golden hp bullet. I bought it from the Glockmeister. He is close enough that I drive over there when I need something. |
Ordered one at 8:45 am EDT. Says they were still in stock then, we'll see if it actually gets shipped.
Just ordered on at 10:12 Am EST.
Said they were in stock and would ship today.. we'll see. |
I hate ARFCOM!
I hadn't planned on buying one of these, but for $139 (C&R), I don't think I can pass it up. Ordered mine around 11:30 am today. Now I'm gonna have to get a couple of the BDM mags. What do most people do for sights for these? I'm guessing the POI is going to be very different from .223. Some sort of QD optic or BUIS that can be taken off to switch to .223? |
Just checked and mine shows SHIPPED at 11:55 AM so mines on it's way!
Mine shipped as well, apparently they knew I was going to order because it shipped about 3 hours before I ordered it.
why does everyone bitch about Ciener yet continue to buy his product?

In a 1/9 and a 1/12 sighted in for 50 yds. mine is dead on at 25 yds. YMMV.

The big brown truck delivered my Midway order about 30 minutes ago. Being the impatient sort, I stepped out in my yard and blasted through 3 mags (10 round only, unfortunately). Left a HUGE smile on my face. I used Federal bulk automatch (40 gr) that I had picked up at Wally World a while back. My one attempt at a "group" was a little over an inch at 25 yards, for 10 rounds, rapid fire with iron sights. Not bad, for me anyway.
I just got through ordering some BDM 25 round mags from Brownells, that should make a even bigger smile on my face. Now to get to an official range, for some serious fun, and to keep the neighbors from complaining. |
Got mine today as well. I shot a couple dozen shots. No problems so far. Going to shoot a lot more tomorrow. Hopefully will keep working well.
Do you use the 'Wish List' feature? It's handy for keeping track of stuff to get on the next order. We got our Ciener kit with the last batch back in March and as soon as I shot it I said, "I can't believe that we didn't get one of these before." THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN!!! |
These kits are outstanding! What a hoot. If you want to shoot your AR a lot and can't afford the price of your ammo habit, you have to have one.
Er, no wait, they suck, don't get one. If every one shoots 22lr, the price will go through the roof so don't waste you money. his FWIW Scott |

Just placed an order, hope it's not operator error that they are in stock,,, too. The price is certainly right even though there isn't a discount to anyone,, it appears. Left Kevin his stock of 4 so there's a source for anyone who misses them at Midway. They probably won't last long.

I ordered this morning and called to double check and they were in stock. Woo Hoo!
Shows Midway expects another shipment the 19th. Keep a close daily eye on the Midway Page or order from Black Dog Machine if they still have any. Kevin "BDM" has spare Parts and BDM Hi Cap Mags too. He also has 10 Round BDM Mags for those States that limit Mag Capacity.

I ordered 2 Conversions later than you 49erRider so I'm sure we will be getting them soon. Requested mine be shipped USPS Priority. The orderers I've made in the past few months on Saturday morning say that they shipped Monday but have been here on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.
You will Love the kit, Clean and Lube before shooting. I use Federal Bulk, It's Cheap and Functions Well. The Ciener Mag that comes with it may need the Feed Lips Tweeked. Search here for the Specs if that's the case. BDM Mags work Flawlessly. So don't get frustrated if all you have is the Ciener Mag. SO-13 |
