Hey folks.  I am having an issue getting my magnifier aligned behind my red dot site.  The magnifier is behind a Bushnell TRS-25 which i really like.  It sits atop a UTG riser mount with .83" saddle height.  I later decided i wanted magnification but with quick-release ability to dump the magnifier if desired.  So I put a UTG 3x behind it and all this fits on top rail... It is usable but sits a little too high and I'm not satisfied with the usability... I really have to be perfectly lined up behind the scope and there is no wiggle room left/right up/down b/c it is just barely lining up.  See how magnifier is too high by about 1/8":

If I could find a riser for the scope that sits about .94" or 3.5mm or so higher than current, it would be perfect but no luck on finding such an item.  The magnifier has an alternate mount setup but is way too low.  I cannot drop the scope any lower b/c it would point straight into my front iron site.  Any ideas?  It would be nice if I could find a medium height riser with some extra adjustability but I have never seen one nor know if such exists.  I want to keep the Bushnell as it was a gift and I really like it (too later to return it anyway)  The way the magnifier's mount is build there is really no way to alter it to sit slightly lower, short of putting it into a CNC machine (not an option).

Here's the view thru it... it's actually pretty nice and clear despite what my camera was able to pick up in the dim lighting!  Also a little frustrating is that you can see the red dot is off to the right of center thru magnifier.. I have flipped the magnifier and scope riser around to see if they were the cause of the misalignment left to right but no change, so it seems either it is the Bushnell red dot or the magnifier itself (the body?)...  not sure.  I can live with that I suppose but wish i could figure it out.  hopefully won't throw me off on sighting.

Appreciate any help!  Oh, my first post here. Been lurking a while... great site!

Does your magnifier have adjustments to move the dot to the center?

Who made the magnifier?

It says UTG...That could be the issue.

That is what I was thinking, but I couldn't tell for sure if it said UTG or if that was some type of sword symbol or something.

Still...I bet he just hasn't found the windage and elevation adjustments on the magnifier yet...(if it has any)

Nothing  about that bushnell is standard at all. Getting it lined up well is going to be damn near impossible.

Even if you get an Aimpoint or EOTech magnifier, the dot isn't going to be centered at first.... that is why they have horizontal and vertical adjustments on the magnifier.  People don't buy exactly UTG for the quality.  I really can't believe you can't adjust the dot position... that sucks.

I can't help you with the height alignment problems....

But... you can try and "shim" the firing port side of the mount on the 3x magnifier.....this would be a rather red-neck fix but it does work to an extent...

put some smoothly multi-folded tin-foil in between the firing port side of the rail and the mounts "claws" , experiment with the thickness until you are happy. It might not take more than 3-4 thickness of foil to shift the alignment over. After you have shimed it , trim any excess away. You might be able to glue the foil shim on to the mount.

Again ..... Hill-Billy, but a good experiment.... I shimed a Fastfire II that way so as to better co witness .

The adjustment for most that don't have one, is to just simply turn the magnifier inside the mount until the dot is centered. Just rotate it.

I had a Mako that was off center, and that is the correct way. Once I rotated it about 3/4 of the way around, it was centered.

Unfortunately the magnifier does not have an adjustment to alter the center. The mount screws into the body so there is nothing to rotate other than the diopter.  Perhaps with the right tool I could spin the lens on the front but I'd probably scratch it trying without that tool.  Anyway that is the least of my concerns really.  I will say the optics quality seems surprisingly good for $60.  Just wish there were some more adjustments.

I believe dannofree is on to something with the bushnell being non-standard.  lots of people like them but probably don't few have it behind a magnifier which is where it matters, or perhaps really long range stuff that they wouldn't be using a 1x for anyway.  Hmmmm.  I may just leave it if I can't find a solution or consider another red dot.  I need to find a way to measure it to prover it is off, then maybe call Bushnell to discuss.

which UTG riser do you currently have on the bushnell?

it looks to be the medium mount(#rs08s3). that should give you an absolute co-witness, but will be too low for the magnifier, which appears to be a lower 1/3 type mount.

the mount you will need to use to get that bushnell up the the lower 1/3 co-witness style of mount is a UTG rs10s3

Hey full-man, thanks and that's not a bad idea... it will be a little high by about .06" but about .05" closer to level than where I am now so will probably give it a shot!
