Thinking on purchasing one..... Anyone try attaching an M9 Bayonet to a Bushy 14.5 M4 barrel with a 5 port Phantom flash hider? input appreciated.

Thanks!

How much length does the FH add to the barrel?
If it brings it up to the required 16" for a rifle the bayo will probably fit but the ring that goes around the FH will be sitting further back than you expect.

Thats what Im trying to determine before I make the purchase. Bushmaster told me bayonet will click right in, but he didnt sound too confident in his answer.

thanks!

Before I gave my M9 bayonnet away to a friend, I put it on my 14.5" Bushy with the Phantom, I know for a fact it works, and works well.

I like the M7 better than the M9, but to each their own...

I was looking for a new knife recently after temporarily losing one of my favorite fixed blades, since the AW ban had just sunset I figured why not get a bayonet and "evil up" my rifles that now have bayonet lugs.

I wound up getting the M9 and it's a pretty beefy son of a bitch, I kinda like it.    Fairly expensive but now I've got yet one more fixed blade to abuse after my friend found the SOG Gov't. Recon that I had lost while he was going through his camping gear.

The thing fits great on my 14.5 inch gun with Phantom but it is a hard fit on my 20 inch Gov't. with Phantom.     For some reason it seems the bayonet lug on my 20 inch rifle is slightly off in alignment, clicking the M9 into full engagement takes some doing and then to get it off it's pretty difficult as well.    I suspect this would happen with most any bayonet I tried due to some kind of alignment issue with the lug itself.

Here's my rifle with M9,

uglygun,

If I do say so myself, your AR looks great!!!!

Looking on Ranger Joe's and Actiongear.com for the best price.

Where did you purchase the M9?

I went with Ranger Joes as I also needed a new BDU jacket.

Was tempted to go with US Cav but the idiots said they won't ship the M9 to Ca., don't know what that crap was about so forget them.

Supposedly there's an even larger bayonet out there by Ontario Knife than the M10,  one with a freakin 11 inch blade.

I decided to go with the M9 because I like blades in the 6-7 inch range while providing a lot of mass, also liked the wire cutter feature of the blade for this knife will likely stay with my shooting/hiking pack.   Not sure how rugged the wire cutters are but I figure what the hell.

Don't get me started....

Meet "miss piggy"...

AR10 with SIR and Vortex, the AW ban sunseting WAS my christmas this year.   About the only thing left is to finally replace the scope with something like a mil-dot 3.5-10x Leupold M1 Long Range.

The M7 is a dedicated pig sticker, it doesn't try to play the field knife/ bayonnet game.  It does what it needs to, weighs less, and slimmer blades stab better.

Just my opinion.

Pretty sweet......can't never seem to get enought of bayonets on rifles.

Might also try reading "Bayonet Battle", good read on bayonet use in warfare.

You can get them from Cuzco Inc. at PrebanArms.com

The work is of the highest quality, new condition bayonets.  I see they now also sell the adaptor piece separately in case you want to modify your own M7.  I wish there was an adaptor for the M9.

Bonus Bayo shot

In general, the bayonets will fit over any muzzle device made to standard NATO dimension (I think it's something like 22mm OD?).  In the above case, it's a Vortex.
