Build progress so far. I have a LaRue LT104 en route that will arrive Tuesday. From there, I'm kind of cash-strapped for a while, but that will give me some time to continue to research which LPVO I want.

Love it. Highly recommend you go with Nightforce LPVO. I am loving my 2.5-10x32 (also been seen on some B2s)

Now that u have the Larue mount and bipod I  would say the NF 2.5-10x24 would be the right optic like the block 2 in that one video.  Very nice rifle.  I went with the Vortex PST2 1-6 with mines which is good considering the price.

Hey! Quit spending all my money I don't currently have with all of your NF suggestions :) I was thinking more along the lines of the Steiner P4xi 1-4x24 or would that be a sad compromise? Would love a NF, but big bucks and this is my first go into a magnified optic. Sort of easing into it with just a little bit of financial commitment to make sure I even like the setup.

Eww. Compromise? Clone?

The answer is no sir. Save up for used Nightforce. You will thank me later.

Shit who am I kidding. You'll sell whatever optic you get anyways

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking my next rifle should be an M4A1 Block II. I haven't' followed this thread closely in the past so I don't have a lot of knowledge on the RIS II's availability. I see it's out of stock on the DD website. Any insight on how long it's normally out of stock for?

That's what I went with and the 1.93 G mount.  That NF is on my list but will go on the scar.

I ended up selling my p4xi this week. It’s a great scope for the money but once you get into the $1k+ glass you get spoiled and cannot go back. Eye box and clarity on the NF and razors is just so much better than the Steiner. Just my .02

I mean I guess it’s the only upper that comes ready with a 14.5” barrel and Surefire flash hider welded on. What you would spend on making a Brownells 16” ris ii upper right as well as your time probably wouldn’t be too far off.

But come on DD. “Use what they use” then go ahead and throw on their fixed rear sight? Just leave it off and knock $50 off the price

Agreed. And where's the SF4P? I would think DD had just as much pull as G, they should be able to get them no problem.

Guys, quick question; is there any specifics to TA51 mounts in the block II clone bible? I'm interested in the American Defense AD-B3. It's like the only QD mount I can find in FDE and I like the QD auto-lock lever.

Everything you listed is either correct or seen in the wild minus the dbal. Certain army national guard units have sourced Dbals but they haven’t been seen on a block ii. If you’re actually going to be running your rifle with night vision it’s probably best to just choose the best laser within your budget rather than getting pedantic about a civilian version of an issue laser that wouldn’t be as good.

I don’t think mini’s have ever been used but Surefire mini monsters were used by a national guard SF group so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.

Army AWG has been seen running Larue LT100s on their SU-237s

I had my block ii set up similar to this ranger’s Block ii with lt100 at one point

My block ii back in the day:

Even the GDI acog mounts were in use with the marine corps for a brief brief time and have an NSN number so they’re plausible. I’ve never seen a ADM acog mount though.

But ADM MRO, T2, and 30mm mounts have been used so who knows
