Does anyone know of a quality two piece low profile gas block that will fit under a DD rail? I have a midlength barrel with permanently attached FH that I'd like to put a DD rail on. Thanks.

PRI--but it is not a 2pc. YHM makes a 2pc gas block but I dont know if it will fit under a DD. In other words --I dont know. sorry

Thanks for the effort though!

Anyone use a spector gas block from YHM?

I actually just sold one on the EE. It came with a Spectre kit from YHM. I ended up using the FFT only. Again, I am no help.

Fuck it, I am going to bed. Sorry

I just got a YHM and was going to use it under a Samson MRFX-MX on my new pistol build.
Would not fit. SO I got to sit and do a lot of " machining" last night to get it under there.
Guess it's my fault for not researching a little bit more. But heck it fits now. Just had to repaint it.

Randall,

Its so funny you wrote this thread. I JUST sent you my barrel on tuesday. Did you get my email (shk_1010 AT yahoo.com)? I haven't heard back from you and am just wondering. Also, when is your new low profile gas block going to be ready? If you haven't worked on my barrel yet, that maybe something I want to buy from you if you haven't already worked on my barrel or if your LP gas isn't ready yet.

Also, how in the WORLD are you going to get that low profile gas block for lightweight barrels OVER that bushing you guys leave on lightweight barrels to attach a FH on????

Randall,

That's about the most beautiful thing I'll ever seen!

I did not know that the bushing was thread on. Is this something that I can thread on or it something you thread on and have to do something special to it (ie weld on). I may have you do this IF its not too late and its something I can do as oppose to something you have to do. If I can do this, I'll just have to wait a month and buy your LP gass block. Let me know.

Again, thank you for you prompt service!!!

I would strongly suggest simply shaving the FSB to fit under the DD.  I had ADCO do this on my 6520 barrel, install a DD 9.0, and mount the whole assembly on an M4 upper.

All of the "gas blocks" have some sort of set screw method of attachment.  No matter what you do this isn't going to be as secure as having the original FSB installed with the original taper pins.  Yes, you can dimple the barrel under the set screws and install them with red locktite, but for my money the best option is always to stick with the OEM part.

Randall,

Do you sell any of these low profile gas blocks (PRI, LaRue, knights, and YHM) that will fit under a DD rail &  and how much do you sell them for? Also, how much to do this pinning for low profile gas blocks? Thanks.

Randall,

Can you tell by shaving the barrel if it was stainless steel or not?

How much more will it be for me to get this done (including the bushing)?

And do I have your guarantee that you'll build this low profile gas block of yours. How much?

Any problems permanently attaching a FH to the end of a lightweight barrel?

Then please perform the full lightweight profile! And please let me know as soon as you get these things in stock cause I'll need one.

Thanks!
